Holt Christmas Party

Last weekend we had the annual Holt Family Christmas Party. We had lots of food, talking, playing games, and of course opening presents! Thanks everyone for the great time!

Next, we opened presents from Grandpa and Grandma Holt, he got cute fishing bear pajamas and of course Mickey slippers! He likes playing with them more than wearing them!

After that, my mom and dad gave each married couple a "Reason for the Season" picture. Very nice and sweet and one of the favorites. Thanks mom and dad!

Disneyland!

We were able to go back to Disneyland again this year with Kyle's company. This trip was so much fun, now that Braden kind of has an idea of what is going on! We left Friday night and were a little worried, cause Braden had been sick earlier in the week. As luck would have it, right when Kyle was on his way to get me from work, Braden threw up everywhere, something he hadn't done until then. We were debating what to do, because that same thing had happened the day we were leaving to go to Hawaii. Braden looked okay and was still smiling and jibbering away, so we decided to risk it. The only problem came when we were on the descent down, and he threw up just a little, probably from the turbulence. It was about 8:00 so we decided just to hang out at the hotel and let Braden rest. Luckily the hotel had a laundry, so we took advantage of that and ordered pizza and relaxed.
Saturday morning Braden was back to normal so we ventured out. The first ride we went on was the new Little Mermaid, and it was really cute. Braden loved it because of all the music and bright colors. We then headed over to Studio 17 where Kyle's company was having a luncheon. While eating, Mickey and Minnie arrived. I was a little nervous about Braden's reaction, but as soon as he saw them, he wanted down and was very impatient about waiting in line! He wanted to see them and he wanted to see them right then! When our turn finally arrived, he just crawled up to Minnie and just plopped himself right in her lap, all smiles. He absolutely loved her and would have stayed there all day if he could. The same thing happened with Mickey. He would go up and give hugs and plop down in his lap just smiling and laughing. It was so cute!

After the luncheon we decided to do some of the things that we hadn't done or seen last year. We went on Monsters Inc., and then just walked around. After a nap, we came back out at night, grabbed some dinner, went on Pirates of the Caribbean. It was super busy out so we just basically walked around.

On Sunday, we got up early to do the Magic Morning and hit up Fantasyland before all the crowds arrived. We went on Peter Pan, Snow White, Pinocchio, (he did not like these rides very much, probably cause they were too dark) and Dumbo. Braden and I watched Kyle go on the Matterhorn twice and then we went on It's a Small World. I think that was Braden's favorite ride because he was rocking back and forth to the music and singing with it. He was entranced the whole time. We hurried over to Nemo (which was okay) and then did Buzz Lightyear. After that, we had a character breakfast at the Plaza Inn. We met a few new characters, like Susie from Cinderella, Chip and Dale, Captain Hook (the only character he cried at, just because he saw our food and was hungry), and of course Minnie again.

After breakfast, we took a nap and then waited for the Christmas parade. The parade was really cute and fun.

When the parade was over, we went to California Adventure and Kyle went on Soarin' Over California and Tower of Terror. We went to dinner at Tortilla Joe's and then went back to the hotel and hung out. On Monday, our plane didn't leave until late afternoon, so we headed over to Bug's Land and Kyle and Braden went on the caterpillar ride. We came upon Pluto, and had to wait in a small line. Braden was freaking out in line, impatiently waiting to get to Pluto. It was so funny! He actually walked up to him and was instantly in love. The crowd behind kept laughing and saying how cute he was with Pluto.

We walked around and gathered souvenirs and headed back to the hotel, where we visited Santa and then headed out. It was such a fun trip!

Family Pictures

Braden just loves to keep his cute smiles and giggles a secret only to be seen by mom and dad or grandpa and grandma. Very rarely can we get pictures of this kid smiling.

His 6 month pictures all we could get was a blank stare with his mouth open.

His 10 month pictures all we could get were tongue tricks.

We had family pictures taken recently. Don't ask me what this face is! He was pulling this scrunch face throughout the whole photo shoot, and the sun wasn't in his eyes or anything. Our little man sure does have quite the personality, especially when trying to capture a smile on camera.

6 Months

Braden had his 6 month pictures taken, and I must say it was quite the experience for him and the photographer! Let's just say that the photographer tried every trick in the book to get him to smile, from tickling, playing peek-a-boo, stuffed animals, feathers, bells, and having another girl come to help! Braden wouldn't even crack a smile! He just sat and watched them wondering what in the world was going on. After several breaks, and Braden eating we were able to get a few of his current expressions that we have seen and are really enjoying recently. These are just a few of the 75 pictures we had taken. I am really happy with the way they turned out, and even though Braden didn't smile very much, it definitely shows off his personality!
Some facts about Braden at this age:
He responds to his name.
He recognizes mom and dad.
He loves eating rice cereal and baby food.
He would rather stare at everything and everyone than play with toys.
He likes to watch cartoons.
He is small for his age.
He makes funny noises from growling and tensing up with his mouth wide open to screaming and singing while gurgling.
Every time we put him on his tummy, he instantly flips over.
He smiles and laughs when he is alone with mom and dad or grandma or grandpa.
He is a morning person and refuses to sleep during the day from fear of missing something.

Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! We all got spoiled, but Braden most of all! It was more fun to shop for him and we just couldn't resist all the fun and cute things. He didn't even know what was going on, but he loved it. Christmas Eve we made soup and watched Christmas movies, then hurriedly went to sleep to see what Santa brought us. Braden had a rough night because he was starting to get sick so he was up quite a bit. We finally woke up at 9:00 and went to see what we got. Kyle got lots of video games, movies, books and toys. I got a lot of clothes, accessories, a video game, books, and movies. Braden had clothes, toys, books, a pillow pet, movies, and games. The day was mostly spent playing with our games and then we went and had Christmas dinner with my sister and brother. When we got home we continued to play games! It was a nice relaxing day.

Braden loves his Panda Pillow Pet. The other cousins would try and give him their pillow pets, but he would only get excited and play with his Panda. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Disneyland for Christmas!

We just got back from a quick and eventful trip to Disneyland, the Happiest Place on Earth! We went over this last weekend with the company Kyle works for, and we had a blast. We arrived early Friday morning, and couldn't check into the hotel, so we went straight into the park. It was so busy! We got in and looked at all the pretty Christmas decorations, then went on our first ride, Pirates of the Caribbean. We walked around a ton and caught up with lots of characters. On Saturday, we went in early and hit Fantasyland before the crowds caught up with us. Braden enjoyed looking around and seeing all the lights and characters. After Fantasyland, the day was mostly spent seeing characters that we just happened to see. That night we went and saw World of Color, which was super cool! We were very impressed. We had a great time and Braden was a real trooper. Everyone kept saying how easy going he was, and they are right. We are so lucky that he can just go with the flow and doesn't complain too much! :) Overall we had a fantastic, short trip but totally worth it and can't wait to go back next year!

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween. We spent Friday morning dressed as Mario, Princess Peach, and Baby Luigi for my school's Halloween parade. Then that night we transformed into pirates for Kyle's work party.

On Saturday, we carved pumpkins and ran errands. We were going to take Braden trick or treating, but the weather wasn't being very cooperative and was really cold, so we opted to stay in, relax, and pass out candy.

Witches at Gardner Village

Today we spent the perfect date with each other, not too hot not too cold, all we needed was a light jacket! We enjoyed roaming the various shops while checking out all the fun witches at Gardner Village.

This was my favorite witch of the day. It had a cute set up with the cauldron and the green liquid was actually running from the spout. A lady next to us was telling her kids that the green liquid was boiled naughty children!

Even though Braden doesn't look happy in any pictures, he had a great time! He was just so focused on what was happening around him.

Put Your Hands In the Air...

...if you like wearing sweater vests! Yeah! At least I can dress one of my boys the way I want, with a cute, preppy, argyle sweater vest. Now that Kyle sees how cool Braden is, maybe, just maybe he will want to dress just as cool too. One can hope.

Braden is also learning early to sleep with his cute little bum in the air. Something he must have learned from his cousins, Brooklyn and Carlee!;)

The Rains Came Down and The Floods Came Up!

Every summer we always get a heavy rain/hail/wind storm that ends up flooding the streets and our yard like crazy. Well we have just had two heavy storms within days of each other. The first storm happened on Saturday and the wind blew so hard, that it blew the doghouse lid off into our basement window well and broke through the window! Luckily our basement didn't flood, but unfortunately for some of our neighbors they were not so lucky. It is always nice to have ward members ready and willing to help out. We had lots of people drive by making sure we were okay.
Today we had another storm just as bad. I cannot believe how quickly it comes one minute and is gone the next. I was able to get a few pictures to show how crazy it was.

Braden Lawrence McKnight made his debut a week early at 2:52 p.m. on Sunday, June 20th. He was 6lbs. and 17.5 inches long. It was a perfect Father's Day gift for Kyle, and he couldn't have been happier. Based on the 84 pictures he took within the first few hours of his life I guess he was one proud papa! Everything went well and Braden is healthy and adorable. He is such a good baby and we are really enjoying being new parents.

Tulip Festival

We went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point today. We finally had a beautiful weekend and I must say the weather was perfect: in the 60's with a cool breeze! This was the first time both Kyle and I had ever been through the gardens and we were very impressed. We started the day by eating at the Trellis Cafe (yummy!) and then walked around the gardens. We tried to ride the segways and we tested them out, but since my balance is kind of shaky we opted to walk. We had a great time just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

My cute hubby turned 27 today! I can't believe we are getting that old! I would say he may be getting old in years, but based on the Lego set and video game he got for his birthday you can tell he is still very young at heart. He even unwrapped a shirt and just tossed it aside to find the cool stuff!

We had a really fun and exciting day. We started off by hanging out at Boondocks playing mini golf, watching a 4D show and playing arcade games. We then went to the Mayan for dinner and came home, opened presents and ate yummy ice cream cake! Happy Birthday Babe!

We found out today that we are having a little baby BOY! We're excited to have a little boy join the family! He's healthy and looks good so far, we even got a great clip of him yawning - way cute. The names we have picked out are Cade, and Brayden, so we'll see what he looks like :). Good times for sure!

That's right, you read it correctly! The latest addition to our family is a boy! He's a 7 week old puppy named Rex :) He's part Lab and part Golden Retriever. He's a cute little bugger and a lot of fun to have around. Well.... that is unless you ask Kodiak (the family American Eskimo dog staying with us). Overall Kodi has been really good, although he gets annoyed with Rex and growls at him sometimes. What's funny, is when we are playing tug-a-war or ball with Rex. Kodi will come strolling into the room to see what is going on (he'll keep his distance), then he'll just watch, get jealous, and start barking or growling until we give him some attention (funny dogs lol). Rex is adjusting well and we've started crate training him. He loves his new "bed" and hasn't had a single accident in his new bed. His old pillow bed was another story lol. He wouldn't do his business on the floor, and he when we took him outside he would do his business no problem. Secretly however, he would lay on his pillow bed and pee on it (luckily never the other). So we took his bed away, and then he would pee right where his bed was. The family we got him from left the whole litter in a box with wood chips, so they would sleep, eat, and relieve themselves in the same box. Needless to say this created a habit in which we had to quickly break. So, that's when crate training started and he hasn't had a single accident! :) He now has his own separate areas for sleeping, eating, and relieving himself outside. So now we are Obedience training, Socializing, and going for walks. He's a busy boy, but it's easier to get him trained now, rather than down the road with a baby or young one running around :) Below are some pics of Rex and his Love/Hate relationship with his Teddy Bear. We Give Thanks

Over Thanksgiving weekend, we packed up and headed down to Las Vegas. My sister just moved into a new house, so we went to see it and just to relax and have a lovely Thanksgiving meal. We had a great time shopping some Black Friday deals, visiting Santa at Bass Pro Shop, playing with the kids, and of course eating! Thanks for having us Kris and Joe, and it was fun hanging out with the rest of the family.

Date Night

Hooray! Kyle and I finally did something fun and exciting! Last night we went and enjoyed a night out on the town. We went and saw Snooty and the Beast at the Desert Star playhouse. The show was very entertaining, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The actors even did an after show where they performed the Monster Mash in honor of Halloween, and that show was just as good as the play. It was a very nice date to get out and do something fun, and I didn't even have a chance to take a nap ;)

"Good" Times

My dad recently celebrated his 60th birthday on July 9th. To honor the big occasion we planned an early surprise for him. Now my mom is not very good at keeping secrets, so she enlisted the help of all the kids to help her pull this off. My sisters planned a secret trip to come up over the 4th, so we could celebrate the party a little early. Mom had reserved a banquet room at Goodwood, and she was scared that she might blow the surprise, so I called my dad and nonchalantly invited him and mom out to dinner. Everyone had to meet at the restaurant at 5:20, before my mom and dad arrived at 5:30. I had Kyle go meet them up front (to say that we had a table in the back) and when they rounded the corner of the banquet room, my dad got an eyeful. All of us yelled surprise! He had no idea! He had seen Cath and Jay's car so he assumed Kyle and I were going to give a pregnancy announcement. Ha Ha (We fooled them ;). We had a great time eating dinner, and then we all went back to mom and dad's house to enjoy cake and ice cream. We had all pitched in and got my dad an awesome Cowboy style grill with a side smoker. I managed to get 60 candles on the cake and by the time we got most of them lit, the decorations started on fire. After removing the blazing decorations, dad was able to blow all the candles out (with 10 little helpers)! Happy Birthday!

American Fork Canyon

On Friday the celebrations continued as we spent the day up in American Fork Canyon. Everyone had their food assignments, and Geoff and Alanna headed up earlier to find us a good spot. When all of us arrived at my parents, we caravanned up to Tibblefork. Geoff and Alanna did good and found us a perfect spot by the Horse Trailhead. The weather was perfect and there was a huge tree that shadowed the campsite all day so we didn't get too hot. Right away after setting up camp, dad suggested taking a hike down one of the trails. Most of the grandkids, Joe, Kris, Steph, Jim, Kyle and I all went for one of my dad's adventurous hikes. I love my dad's hikes because he never stays on the path and starts making his own trail. We were weaving in and out of the sagebrush, sliding down the mountain, crossing rivers on not so stable logs, looking at wild animal tracks, and hearing stories of Bloody Bill and Old Ephraim (Sierra even found his belt buckle :), and we were loving every minute of it. By the time we got back to camp, we were beat and ready to eat. We pulled out the food and relaxed for a bit. We roasted marshmallows, where most marshmallows were burned and put in the fire. Well, except for a couple that Clark willingly ate for $2 (not worth it as they were totally charred and broke to ash when he bit into it) eeewww! Steph started a marshmallow fight followed by a water balloon fight with this huge slingshot that Geoff and Alanna had brought. Jim, Kyle and Joe started launching balloons to Jay and some of the boys. Afterward we just sat around the campfire talking and watching the kids swing around a tree on Kodi's leash. We ended the day tired, but happy. Thanks everyone!

My whole family got together for Easter this past weekend. Lucky for me my birthday falls pretty close to Easter each year so it was nice to celebrate with my whole family complete with all 10 nieces and nephews. My birthday was on Friday, so I still had to go to school, but my kids were really nice and brought me some presents and were really good considering it was right before spring break, we were having our Easter party and it was my birthday. We had just gotten in from recess and I was explaining our list of things to do when I got an unexpected surprise from my mom, sisters and all my nieces and nephews (with balloons on each of their wrists) who came to sing me happy birthday with my class. It was a fun little visit and they got to meet my class and take a few pictures. They also spilled the beans and let my students know how old I was! Oops!:)

After school I met up with Kyle at my parents house and he surprised me with a Hannah Montana party! The reason for this is because the movie came out that day and I told him I kind of wanted to see it (but so did he)! So he took that I am a fan and made Hannah Montana as the party theme. At least my niece Katelyn was excited! Anyway, we went to dinner and then came back to my parent's house and opened presents and had cake and ice cream before coloring Easter eggs. It was a great birthday! Thanks everyone! (Oh and we did go and see the Hannah Montana movie and it was cute).

April Fool's Day

Ahhh, the joys of tricking second graders on April Fools! I gave my students an April word search to do after they took a math test today. I told them that they needed to be absolutely silent so that everyone could concentrate and do their best. I explained that when they were done, they needed to raise their hand and I would trade them their test with the word search. I also told them that whoever found all the words on the word search first I had a treat for them, as long as they didn't get help from anyone. I threatened that if they talked they would automatically get a yellow flag (don't worry it was all a part of THE PLAN).
So throughout the whole test they were silent. I had a few kids that got done with their test fairly quickly and some that took a long time. The trick: none of the words that they had to find were in the word search! HA HA HA! So while I was waiting for a few kids to finish up (and they took forever, almost 20 minutes after everyone else was done). I was secretly laughing watching all of the kids try to find words that didn't exist! I could see that quite a few of them were getting so frustrated, some had given up and were just sitting there, I caught a few that glanced at their neighbor's paper, some were going up and down, letter by letter over again and again, but they all still kept silent the whole time. Finally, when I collected the last test, I said, "You know whats funny?" "April Fools!" I then explained that none of the words were in the word search. It took them a minute and then they all started freaking out! I was laughing so hard and told them I tricked them all! They were laughing and were trying to get me back. After the uproar ended, they all wanted to try that trick on their parents too. I must admit I got them good! So unexpected! HE HE HA HA!

Happy 26th Birthday Kyle!

On Friday we celebrated Kyle's birthday (the Big 26)! We started celebrating when I got home from school. I had made him a candy bar poster, something he had never heard of before, so I had to explain that you read the poster inserting the candy bar words where necessary. He thought it was pretty funny. He then opened presents and was pretty surprised and excited about them. He received a button up shirt (eyes rolled on that one), a DS game: Professor Layton and the Curious Village -a brainteaser and puzzle game, Chipmunk Adventure movie and three Halo books. It was Friday night, so we decided to stay home and go out to dinner on Saturday afternoon when it wouldn't be as busy, so we just hung out at home and enjoyed the night.

Happy Valentine's Day

I guess it is a Valentine weekend because last night Kyle humored me and went and saw the new movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic. Kyle was not excited at all to see this movie, but he was laughing and it turned out to be a good chick flick.
Today, I started the day off by "Heart Attacking" my husband while he was sleeping and on the hearts I wrote all the things I love about him. He counterattacked with a present and a cheesy valentine card. (He is the more romantic one in our relationship). We then went to Color Me Mine which is a pottery place where you pick out a pottery piece and get to glaze it yourself. After two hours of perfecting our art, we went to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. We picked up some chocolate covered strawberries and ended the day by taking a nap, before Kyle had to work.

Holt Christmas Party

On Saturday we had the Holt Christmas party. My sisters came up from St. George and Las Vegas to celebrate. We got up to my parent's house in the early afternoon and hung out with all the nieces and nephews for a while. Then we had a gingerbread house making contest, and I must say that I felt like Kyle and I were the most creative! :) We ate a delicious dinner followed by opening presents. We definitely got spoiled with our awesome presents. Thanks for a great night mom and dad!

Oh, Christmas Tree...

Today we went with some friends to pick out their Christmas tree up the canyon. It was so fun!! I have never been out in the forest looking for a Christmas tree before so this was a new experience for me. Kyle had been before, its one of his family traditions. We were going to get a real tree this year along with our fake tree, but after putting up our fake tree, we didn't really have room for a real one. Maybe next year we will put up a real one instead of a fake one. Anyway, back to the story. So we went up to Daniel's Summit and hiked in and we found a good one pretty quick. We went through the process of cutting and dragging back to the car and after we had tied it on the roof we started driving home. Every now and then my friend and I would get scared because we thought that the tree was going to fall off, but the boys assured us the tree was fine. I kept seeing the trunk of the tree out my window, but we still kept driving, I even slid out the window to try and push it back on at a red light, and Kyle punched the gas when the light turned green just to scare me! Needless to say we had a good time and lots of laughter along the way.

Should We? or Shouldn't We?

Yesterday we were in the Walmart parking lot and saw the cutest little yellow lab puppies for sale. I have been going back and forth because I want a dog, and Kyle kind of wants a dog (to keep outside, um no way! How will it protect me outside?) Well we both fell in love with the cutest little yellow labs. They have smaller paws and the owners said they will only be a medium size dog and they are a pure bred. We would probably get a girl who would be a little more calm but still be playful. Down sides are we don't want to deal with messes in our new house until she gets trained, and the added expense. So I need opinions! Should we get a cute, little yellow lab, or should we not?

Let's Go To The Movies. . .

Finally some awesome movies are coming out! It seemed like we were in a movie drought. Last weekend Kyle and I went to see James Bond in the Quantum of Solace. We really liked it, with lots of action sequences and good ole Bond charm. These movies deal a lot with the early times of Bond and so he is more reckless and just starting to get in with the ladies. Overall, we enjoyed the movie and felt that the only thing missing was Q.

On Saturday we went and were a part of the Twilight Phenomenon! Thanks to reserved seating we had good seats and didn't have to wait in a long line. Although, we thought that there were some pretty cheesy woman who wore shirts that said, "Bite Me Edward", or "Suck Me Edward", or "Team Edward". And when Edward first came onscreen there was much hooting and hollering. Lame! Kyle and I thought the movie was fantastic! Of course we didn't judge too harshly considering we haven't read the book, but we sure want to read them now! I usually read the book first to see if it has a happy ending otherwise I wouldn't see the movie. Well, I didn't have time so I just looked it up on Wikipedia and cheated and got the gist of all the books. We were definitely not disappointed.

Anyway, we would recommend seeing both movies (not that our opinion matters too you:) But they were both entertaining and get two thumbs up from us!

An "Enchanted" Halloween!

Halloween was so much fun this year! First of all I had to work of course but it turned out to be a pretty good day. At school, we do a whole school parade, where everyone sits out in the hall and each grade level takes turns walking around the school so that everyone can see your costume. We also do a walk through the gym so that the parents can see too. I always get embarrassed having all the parents watch me as I lead my class around! We did lots of activities and ended the day with our Halloween party. I think my kids had a lot of fun and so did I! Meanwhile, Kyle had gone to work for a company party and he had won first place in the pumpkin carving contest, where he handmade an embossed Frankenstein head complete with bolts! He also was in the top five and ten in costume judging and salsa making.
After school, Kyle and I headed over to my sisters house to have chili and watch the kids go trick-or-treating. Kris and Joe also came up to join in the festivities and they were already over there. They all laughed and thought our costumes were cute. We had dressed up matchy-matchy as Giselle and Prince Edward from the movie, Enchanted. After homemade chili, we took all the kids out trick-or-treating and enjoyed watching the kids run around. After trick-or-treating, we went up to my parent's house and enjoyed doughnuts and apple cider. We also played a game of neon leon and even my parents joined in too! Our Halloween was a blast and it made me excited for the upcoming holidays.

Viva Las Vegas!

We took a trip to Las Vegas over Fall Break to see my sisters. It was so wonderful to relax and play. We definitely needed a break full of relaxation and fun. We got to Kristen's house late Wednesday night and just sat around and talked. Thursday morning we got up and went shopping at the outlets and then Kris, Joe, Clark, and Katelyn went to St. George to watch a show, while Kyle and I babysat Jake and Carlee. On Friday, we waited for Cath and Jay to show up and then we went to the strip and walked around. The only main show we got to watch was the water show at the Bellagio, and then more walking. That night I revisited my childhood and introduced Kyle to a much loved game of Neon Leon! It was so much fun! Even though I am 25, its nice to giggle and play a good game of hide and seek in the dark. I think we all enjoyed being little kids once again. I look forward to playing it soon.

Saturday, we hit the strip again and saw the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage, and checked out the M&M factory. We also ate huge slices of pizza at New York, New York and then off to play some arcade games. As soon as we got home, Cath, Jay, Kyle, Joe and Clark went to a football game while Kris and I watched the other kids.

Early Sunday morning we packed up and went to Steph's house to enjoy some quality time with the Quarnbergs. We so sadly had to return home on Monday to go back to work, but the weekend was busy and fun. We didn't even take any naps! Yeah us! Thanks to the Stuarts and Quarnbergs for entertaining us (especially the kids -You Rock:) and letting us stay and eat your food. We had a blast! Thanks again, and we can't wait to play another game of Neon Leon!

Trifle a la Sedimentary?

So, I will be teaching my class about sedimentary rocks this week, and what better way to help them learn than through their stomachs (since second grader brains don't seem to work unless there is food or snacks involved) LOL! Kyle and I made a lovely and tasty trifle to help engage my class. Here is a picture of the trifle we made. (You might want to wipe your mouth from drooling now)!

It's Been Too Long!

Wow! What a busy couple of months. After moving, getting settled and school starting, life has been a blur. I didn't realize that it has been so long since I have posted. Anyway, we are loving our new house, it is so quiet and peaceful. We are still putting rooms together little by little but it is fun decorating. School is going really good this year. I have a way cute class with surprisingly more girls than boys so I guess that is why they are so good! I have a total of 23 kids and they are super fun and sweet. Every time they leave to go to recess or specialty, I always get a few hugs from the girls. Kyle is just staying at home and working on the house. He has a big job of putting in a yard and that needs to be done in the next couple of months. Kyle is still working nights and on ebay so he stays busy, but still manages to have time to play his pc and video games! Well that has been our last few months in a nutshell. When we do something exciting that is worth posting I will put it up!

Crazy, Busy, Fun

Wow, these last few weeks have certainly been crazy busy but fun. The entire whole Holt family was together again and we made the most out of it. Everyone arrived on Saturday, July 19th and the first couple of days were shopping at IKEA, going to Seven Peaks and hanging out. Then, all nineteen of us hit the Little America Hotel on Wednesday, July 23rd. We went out to eat at Macaroni Grill (YUM) and then swimming. On the 24th, we walked down and watched the parade, went shopping at Gateway and then off to the Days of 47 Rodeo, Yee Haw! On Friday, July 25th it was my Grandma Holt's funeral. She was 98 years old and a wonderful lady and I am really going to miss her and her sweet spirit. Saturday, July 26th we had family pictures and played lots of games. Sunday was relaxing and then on Monday, both Kris and Steph left to go home. Kyle and I also closed on our new house! Hooray! All went well and we are so ready to have a place of our own. My smile faded slightly that day when I realized I had to move. Moving is the worst but we got it all moved in last week and now we are unpacked and settling down. I am having fun decorating and finding a place for everything. Hopefully this week we will be able to rest a little before the whirlwind of school starts.

Young Living Farm with the Fam

Today we went to the Young Living Farm in Mona, Utah. It was cool to see all the lavender fields. Kyle and I went with Mom, Dad, Kris, Cath, Jay and seven nieces and nephews! It was quite the event. Lavender Days were over, so not much was happening but we ended up making our own fun (as you can tell from the pictures!) After that we went to The Big Red Barn (as Dad calls it) and had some delicious homemade ice cream and treats. We had a great time.
